Silvio Kavistan Vega

is a Principal Research Coordinator for the Stories 4 Change project, a collaboration between the Hennepin Healthcare Research Institute and the Mayo Clinic. Silvio is originally from Nicaragua, and he has worked with low-income, immigrant Latinx communities in the U.S. for the last 9 years. He is passionate about connecting people from Latinx and immigrant communities to resources and knowledge to improve their health. Over the last five years, he has worked on research and evaluation projects in Minnesota and Arizona with Latinx patients, including the Stories 4 Change type-2 diabetes intervention with Latinx patients, and a study of implicit bias in doctors in Arizona. He has a Bachelor’s of Science in Sociology from Arizona State University (ASU).
